Lisa Marie

Another Memorial Poem for my cousin, from 1991

She was always happy

On her face always a smile

If your spirit needed lifting

You hung with Lisa a while
The smallest little things

Some times taken for granted

Not so for Lisa

With them she was enchanted
Her mouth was always moving

They called her CNN

But the name was given in fun

It was given to a friend
She talked too much

Yes that’s true

But you couldn’t help but know

That she cared about you
Lisa was a piece of work

Of that you can be sure

Her personality was a rarity

Thank god there was no cure
Yes we’ll miss her greatly

Though she was with us only a while

We hope she rubbed off on us

Maybe more often we will smile
