Life’s Lenses

The lenses

Those which filter

Which focus

Which colors

Our every day

Our night,

Our every

recorded vision

Our every view

Blinking and not

Even closed

The vision of an

eyelids shy side

Is exposed

In full view

Naked

To no one

That lense,

both real

and imagined

Set in place

Like stone

Yet changed daily

Filters as old

As the eyeball

And as new

As the last breath

The view

As old as life and

As young as death.
