New Adventure, Crock Pot Meatloaf

Another experiment here, and s great one. With our oven on the fritz for a while now, I have been doing work arounds if various kinds for a while.

I had been wanting to introduce the kids to meatloaf, but the dead oven was in the way. Until now. Turns out you can do a pretty damn good meatloaf in the crock pot!

Really came out moist, and yet still firm. Not falling apart, not dried out.

Great set it and forget it meal. 6 hours in the crockpot. The only thing some might miss, is the hardened, caramelized top. Down side to that top, is the drying out you get, chasing that caramelization.

Me? I can live without it, the caramelization. Hell, i look forward to the meatloaf sandwiches myself. That hard top isn’t so great for Sammies anyway…. and the moist, firm result is totally worth foregoing the top.

Gotta have that caramelized top? Take it out of the crockpot and throw it in the oven for a few minutes on broil at 5 hours and 45 minutes, if you must

Above, are my results, and I gotta say, it turned out good, even better than expected
